The language itself is written using a stylus, also allowing for the unique shape and appearance of the language itself. It also has twenty-six letters and equivalent to the full range of punctuation options.

Their climate limits what can be used and done when it comes to recording information, making it often limited to important dates, events and even land claims. While there isn’t really a caste among them there is a set of three categories or orders into which each of the angels fall. Each of these orders is based upon where the angels originally inhabited and were transformed and where they make their home now. The higher the order, the greater the amount they were transformed. More in the Southern Hemisphere can read and write Deltari than the Northern Hemisphere but even then many can notice it if placed among other written script. This is because the written form shares the same same script like shape as Ryu but has taken on more of a sharper edge and more serpentine nature to the characters, adding a sort of foreboding appearance to the language.

Demons look like tall humanoids with large, black bat-like wings with an 18 ft. span. Their strong body ends in clawed hands and feet and they mouths are full of razor sharp teeth. A set of black bull horns jut out of their forehead, curving up and over their bald head and drawing attention to their pointed ears. Bright yellow eyes glare out from under their thick black eyebrows. Each also possesses a prehensile tail, ending in a sharp, spade-like bony spike capping the appendage.

Male demons wear tunics and breeches, these specially crafted for their wings and tail. Females don dresses or robes, again, specially crafted for their wings and tails. The colors and designs of these outfits vary based on the occasion and demon’s statue station. None wear footwear, preferring to go barefoot. They also often don jewelry such as gold earrings, nose rings, rings, and bracelets.

DEMON, GREATER: A higher ranking demon who rules over the demons. Each greater demon has thick muscles rippling with veins (these more relaxed for the female) with yellow eyes shadowed by the thick brow ridge of their forehead. They possess strong clawed hands and a hairless dark red colored body. The only hair is black and found on their head and eyebrows. Greater demons also possess large black, bat-like wings and a set of ivory bull horns (1 ft tall) that jut out from either side of their head above their pointed ears and two smaller goat like horns (4 inches) that stick out of their forehead. Instead of humanoid feet their thighs flow into a goat like leg below the knee, ending in a cloven hoof. Each also have a prehensile tail that ends in a boney spade-like point.

Greater demons usually prefer longer tunics that flow to their knees—both for males and females—these specially crafted to allow for their wings and tails. The colors and designs can and do vary, being more opulent for those who can afford them or wish to make or have a greater rank they can show off. Usually they prefer more somber and darker tones for their dress, but there have been exceptions in certain times and places. They also enjoy donning jewelry of all kinds on their person to enhance their appearance among other fiends and give them more preeminence. Favored adornments are earrings, nose rings, rings, bracelets, necklaces and caps for their horns.

DEMONIC LORD: A higher ranking demon who rules over the demonic dukes, females are known as demonic ladies.
Demonic lords are tall humanoids with a dark gray skin and a set of grayish-beige ram horns on opposite sides of their head and two sets of dark gray bat-like wings the same color as their skin. Their black hair is serpentine in its curls, matching the beards and mustaches that some lords grow. Two small horns also jut out of the sides of the male’s chin, which are noticed all the more when the demon speaks with its forked tongue over their sharp teeth.

They wear garments of rich decoration with deep, somber tones such as reds, blacks, purples, greens and grays. What is worn varies from robes and pants and tunics among males to dresses and tunics and robes with females. All this attire is of course altered to work with their wings. Added to this is the rich jewelry that sometimes includes caps for their horns. They often wear boots but shoes aren’t too uncommon given the situation or terrain. As with the rest of their clothing these are things made to impress.

Her favorite instrument is the tabor and frame drum.

DEVIL: Beings who were sentenced to the Abyss during the Vkaric Dispensation. They were sent there still in there in just their spirit and so were corrupted along the lines of more spiritual natures first. They follow a caste system that sees the order as follows: devil, greater devil, devilish lord/lady, and devilish prince/princess

Devils are frightening fiends. Their heads are reptilian, their bodies have a deep blue skin and are akin to a standard humanoid form but with four arms each sending with a clawed hand. Their lower halves have the dark brown hind legs of a goat. Further, they have large, black bat wings with an impressive 18 foot span.

DEVIL, GREATER: A higher ranking devil who has more place and prestige in the devilish hierarchy. They will often be in service to a devilish lord or devilish prince or both.

Greater devils are sickly thin beings, resembling a skeleton clothed in pale, grayish colored leathery flesh. On either side of their head they have a set of ivory bull horns, extending for one foot, and a set of one and half foot horns behind their heads that curve upwards and slightly over their bald skulls. Their eyes are sunken into their skulls, their canine teeth are long and sharp, and their fingers and toes end in scraggly claws. Finally, greater devils also have a set of slender, transparent bat-like wings.

Males wear a pair of slightly baggy pants with sandals along with a vest. Over this some have also donned an open robed—all the clothing adapted to work with their wings and body. Females will wear sari and sandals. Both sexes enjoy various forms of jewelry, which many often use to help augment their seeming rank and station over others. When it comes to warfare, greater devils enjoy using scimitars and spiked whips in combat. For armor they use chainmail shirts and bracers with small to medium sized shields often displaying the crest of the devilish prince and/or lord they serve.

DEVILISH LORD/LADY: The second highest devils in the devilish hierarchy. Sometimes they have gone rogue and look at ruling on their own but most tend to serve a devilish prince or princess.

Devilish lords are incredibly muscular figures with a dark blue skin tone, six powerful arms, and set of black bat-like wings. Their thick, beefy legs end in sharp cloven hooves and their head and face are devoid of any kind of hair, resembling a human’s face but with pointed ears, sharp canine teeth, and a cruelly lined stoic face. They also have three sets of horns encircling their bald heads. First is a small set of horns akin to a billy goat’s, jutting six inches out of their forehead. Another is a set of bull’s horns that are on either side of their head that extend for about one foot. These are joined with a taller pair of bulls horn’s on the back of this head which curve slightly towards the front of their head as they make their 1 1/2 foot climb. All the horns are a yellowish “dirty” ivory.

Devilish lords are quite found of rich, sleeveless robes that have been specially fitted to not only work with their multiple armies but also wings. They also wear a thick belt/girdle that often times doubles as sword belt for their weapons. They wear no footwear but are found of jewelry of all types, and even look to make themselves look more regal with gold and silver filled tattoos. Devilish ladies tend to take one more jewelry and adornment than males but some males have become the exception to the rule.
When it comes to combat the devilish lords enjoy scimitars, using one for each arm. This means they do not use shields but block any forthcoming attacks with the blades. They also enjoy specially made suits of half-plate armor that help set them apart on the battle field and against their fellow devilish lords.

DRANARIN: The native language (spoken and written) of the dranors. It’s a corrupted form of this language that many modern magic and many spells have been crafted. It was universally spoken by dranors the world over. Later most of what would later become known as mortalkind, would also start out knowing this language as their first spoken tongue before developing their own langue.
As with most races, the written version was not always known by the rank and file dranors but those in power and places of station certainly knew and promoted it. The written form uses a mixture of runes and glyphs. The runes are more rigid looking with the glyphs being more fluid in appearance. The twenty-six runes are the basic letters of their language with the twelve glyphs serving to represent various sounds that are used to make up or accompany a word of letter.

In addition to these are the full gamut of punctuation, some being more common like periods, commas, colons, and semicolons, and others being slightly different versions of a question mark, exclamation mark and quotations. It is clearly distinct when seen and is used on many forms of writing both on parchment and paper and even carved into harder substances like bone, rock, metal, and the like. Naturally, it also finds its way onto enchanted and blessed objects over given the dranors connection to such things throughout their existence on Tralodren.

DRUED’S STANDARD: The symbol for Drued, called Drued’s Standard/the Holy Standard, is two war hammers crossed in front of a double bladed axe. DWARFISH: The name of the written and spoken language of the dwarves, it is commonly spoken and written by dwarves all over the world. Each looks to learn it as well as they can as it is seen as an aspect of racial unity and a connection point to their ancient history and now fractured race. The written form of it uses only capital letters resembling a block, almost runic-like form. But they aren’t entirely runes more entirely pure characters either but something in-between. There are 32 total characters in their language and a handful of punctuation, letting them use the equivalent to periods, commas, question marks, and exclamation marks. It is clearly distinct when seen, however, and is used on many forms of writing both on parchment and paper and even carved into harder substances like bone, rock, metal, and the like.

In his just society he didn’t see the need of for kings. Each man, he said, should be his own ruler, working and living in agreement with his fellow man in common bonds of peaceful relations. He advocated for a bartering system instead of coinage claiming that it was not right for coins to be used for good for it took unfair advantage of those that produced the goods and allowed others to do nothing in exchange. It also allowed for much unfair and uneven practices. Trading services and goods was the fairest and best way to live, he said.

Laws would be communal in nature in both their implementation and enforcement. All would be able to enforce the law and all would be called upon to defend their nation if it came to war but one would not go out seeking for one. Punctuation, however, is lacking some in the process, making reading some of the text challenging in that only until recently (since 1 PV) has a period been added to the process. They don’t have any commas or other any forms of punctuation. They also use letters for their numerals, making something else unique that helps Elonum stand out among the other languages.

FOUNDING DAY: Endaris 22nd is an important day in the Elyelmic life and faith in which they hold this day to the exact date when the great city of Remolos was founded in the dim, distant days of the Shadow Years. Obviously this is only true to the Elyellium as the Patrious have their own sacred day of the same name.

This name is also shared with Khulian 1st, a day marking the start of the formation of the Knights of Khuthon. Naturally, it is something that is only really appreciated and celebrated with those who honor and follow the religion of Khuthon. The day is often spent retelling of the foundation of the order, some tests of strength and, of course, the worship of Khuthon.

This is also a solemn day of reflection and honor to those in Rexatoius, falling on Endaris 1st. On this day they look to set aside a day for the founder of their nation, honoring what he did and gave up and how far they have come since then. In many ways it is a very patriotic and semi-religious affair often mixed with a self-reflective but still celebratory manner as such things tend to be in many lands and with many people. It is believed that Cleseth came to Rexatoius and set foot on it on the 1st day of Endaris and so it has been a traditional belief ever since.

To this end they have begun to make a delegation in each of the elven lands in hopes of one day being able to have enough sway to influence the elven leadership to bring about the unity of the elven race under an elven federation of sorts. Other than this they are part of the regular religion and recognize the regular order of it.

FREE REALM: One of two types of realms, these being left in their natural state, not being merged with another world or plane. These planes then lay outside the old cosmic order and as such are “free” of it, thus earning their name.

Laws were needed to stem back the tide of dark potential and evil that could arise form unchecked lusts and ambitions while also encouraging the best of mortalkind to arise and flourish.

GIGANTIC WARS, THE: A time when the gigantic kingdom of Anaka tried to conquer their other non-Anakite giant kin living in the forests and plains outside their mountainous nation. It waged from 6583-6579 BV but ultimately was a failed attempt.

GNOME: Gnomes are in many respects almost smaller/miniature versions of Telborians. One of the races comprising mortalkind, they were created when the dranors tried to mate with dwarves in a last desperate attempt to save their own dying race.

This is also the name of the written and spoken language of the gnomes. The langue is very similar to Telboros. In general, it’s understood that about 50% of Gnome is very close to the language with a few minor differences in pronunciations, terminology, and spelling. The other 50% is a mixture of the ancient human tongue (about 20%) with their own unique take on most of it, and then new words they’ve developed over the centuries (20%) with the rest being comprised of other words they’ve picked up and/or altered over the years from other races and/or encounters (10%).

The result is that most who can speak and understand Telboros can understand about half of what a gnome says when speaking their their native tongue. As to why gnomes share such a similar language with Telboros, many have speculated for generations, but nothing ever concrete has surfaced outside old legends, myths, theories, and stories.

GOBLIN: Smaller version of a hobgoblin—green skinned with yellow eyes and thin black hair. They are the last and often viewed as lowest member of jarthalian line/social structure.

Goblin is also the native language (written and spoken) but the hobgoblins and goblins. While it shares some similarities with Jarlis, the native tongue of the jarthal and ogre, it has since evolved into something different, adopting some elements of other languages they came into contact with during the years of their development and finally getting formalized when large groups of goblins and hobgoblins met during the Great Unrest wherein the northern hemisphere learned and adopted the tongue of their southern cousins.

The written form is mostly used in the Southern Hemisphere but there are some who still can and do write with it in the north, these being priests and higher ups in the tribes or rank and station. It’s a clean and simple looking language when written, consisting entirely of uppercase letters—these numbering twenty-eight in total, adding in a handful of other markings used for punctuation, allowing for the equivalent of periods, commas, question marks, exclamation marks, and colons. It is quite commonly found on paper, parchment, and the like but is more uncommonly carved in harder substances—especially by those in the Northern Hemisphere.

GODSPAWN: The offspring of a divinity or god and a non-god/divinity. One of the unique brings. They are ranked in two tiers: greater and lesser.
Greater godspawn are born from a god and divinity are known and usually are thought of as getting the best of both worlds in the sense of them being akin to a demigod in a way as they aren’t so much just a simple divinity but something above them but not yet a fully fledged god either. However, they are recognized and even categorized as a divinity in general. Lesser godspawn are born from a god and non-divinity or from two godspawn (either of greater or lesser rank).

How they came to know this date, the priests have varied stories, though most suspect it was taken from the old traditions of the dranors who used to celebrate such matters in their pantheistic religion. No matter its pedigree it is simply a time set aside to honor and praise the goddess of love, beauty, and the arts, for her being and gifts she’s brought to all the world. Every celebration is a little differently but all hold Causilla high and many bring her gifts—these to her temples or shrines—as one might do for a normal birthday party.

Those who worship Dradin have one sacred tome called The Great Book. Inside it teaches and instructs upon all matters worthy of study and understanding, including aspects of magic. Though bound in one book, it is said to be endless, gaining new information from those who ponder it—almost as if it was comprised of ever-expanding text which oddly never causes the book to swell any larger than its original size.

The symbol for Dradin, also called The Great Book, is an opened book with a crystal ball resting on its center. In banners the background is green. In all instances, where possible, the crystal ball is seen as a light green and the book a deep brown with vellum colored pages. When worn by priests a brass pendant is molded into the book, a small green tinted glass globe is used for the crystal ball, all being attached to a green strip of cloth or cord.

When used in written form it tends to make use of more triangular, oval, and circular shapes, these forming a set of what would be called thirty two different letters. Because of this nature of writing in a plane and realm of fire and later magma, many have come to use it in a more spartan sense, putting down more important matters on thin sheets of metal or carved into stone; things that have to be remembered or of great import. Trivial matters that others in other realms and planes can be scribble down for leisure and/or enjoyment are not that common with these incarnates and thus their literature and written matters are drier and purposed/less flowery than text that can be found elsewhere. Following the troublesome years that had followed the Great Shaking and the establishment of those who now had come to make their home in the southern hemisphere it had now created, there was much thought given to what the future might hold. Korlin was a student of history and the more he studied the matter out the more he believed to see patterns develop that lead him predict just what might be unfolding in the not too distance future…and even beyond that.

He said this was possible by stating the history was really a series of cycles that repeated over a certain series of time. All one had to do was look to the cycles of the past and they would be able to make an informed prediction at what would come down the road. Not all of these cycles were in history but also in generations and even nations as a whole. Before his death in 4863 BV he had completed a three ringed system that all turned on their won and then intersected in the middle to produce the reality one currently lived in.

Nations had a cycle they went through, generations theirs and then history itself had a pattern it followed as well. None of this allowed for any free will, and was something of a point of conjecture with those who came to follow this way of thought, these being named Korlinists after the philosophy took on the name of its founder. If things seemed fated to take place at given times then there was little room for free will and self determination as some accused Korlinists of promoting.

If history was progressive, as he put forth, then it could be changed and move forward however one wished to do down it or shape it. To better emphasize this matter he put forth the argument that if everything was cycle passed than one would not be able to alter it, as the Korlinists said was something they sought to do. Like many of his time he had favored one over the other, starting out a Bironist but then moving toward Fullerism when he started seeing more guidance and order was needed than what Bironism sought to put forth. However, he wasn’t one to side too long with Fullerism either as he thought it went too far the other way. Discontent and frustrated with his options, Kenton decided to make a third way for himself and others like him to follow. While he didn’t give it a name it soon became attached to his own, becoming known as Neelism. Those who followed after it becoming known as Neelians.
What Kenton taught was a balance of self and society through a series of personal laws and values in combination with a free government that imposed rules in a meaningful and effective way. Rather than look to legislate morality as he held Fullerism did or rely upon the ultimate goodness of another to keep things moving right, as held by Bironism, Kenton said that mortalkind had the free will given them by the gods to make their own choices but one needed to be protected from the choices made by others if they imposed upon another for the betterment of all.

This lead him to form what was later called Olanism—basically a philosophy that said time did indeed following a linear path but there were also parts to it that were cycle-based. Those who were against him were judged unrighteous and sentenced to the Abyss for their afterlives.

Because souls are connected to spirits both would go to the planes and there find a new body and life awaiting them. This new body would not age and keep them at or round the same age what each race considers their adulthood—what some might call the best part or peak part of their former mortal lives. That body, however, is unable to reproduce. In the centuries since then it has become something akin to a time of a national honor and even glorying in the kingdoms and cities for what they had done in times past. In the reflection of this nature the name of the celebration has often been changed to that of the city’s or kingdom’s name (i.e. “The Haven Festival”/“Sulsar Festival”, etc.) and turned more into a festival into a contemplative time of self reflection as it was first intended.
